Based on the first-hand experiences of a long servin...。故事开始于1948年的辽沈战役。营长郝豹（朱亚文 饰）在战斗中丧妻失子，解放后的他放下枪杆子、拿起锄把子，又在北大荒开始了新一轮军垦生涯。军垦生活单调乏味，清一色的男人做梦都盼着有个家。城里姑娘沈秀（梁林琳 饰）从报纸上得知北大荒招人，她与好友罗薇薇（黄小蕾 饰）瞒着家人报了名，踏上了北上的路程。女人们一到营地，郝豹一眼对漂亮的沈秀产生了好感，因为她与亡妻长得很像。北大荒的荒蛮和艰苦出乎了姑娘们的想象，加之戎马半生的郝豹性格粗野，令沈秀很不适应。不久，又一批山东女人来到北大荒，其中有一个性格豪爽的田二曼（赵苏婷 饰），行为举止活脱脱像一个爷们儿，这下热闹了......。
